Old Highway 25

Description: Old Highway 25 Campground is located on the lake shoreline 1 mile northwest of the dam.

Hikers can enjoy two award-winning national nature trails located near the visitors center. Mossy Bluff extends along a tree-covered bluff overlooking the Little Red River, immediately below the dam. It ends almost one mile away at a rustic shelter, which offers a panoramic view of the river and dam.

Nearby is Buckeye Trail, a short barrier-free, paved pathway designed for the physically challenged. Guide maps for both trails are available at the center.

Location: From Heber Springs, AR, take Hwy 25 6.25 miles north to Hwy. 25S. Travel Hwy. 25S 3 miles west and follow signs into campground.

Facilities: 125 campsites (89 with electricity, 36 without), group camp area, flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, trailer dump station, launching ramp, swimming area, playground and picnic shelters.

Fees: $14 for non-electric, $17 – $20 with electricity, group camp area $150/night.

Open: May 15 – October 31; reservable season May 15– Sept 8
